Versatile!

My little girl likes the idea that she has this instead of the other regular table set bec. there's another oven plus a pot & blender that go with it. Like the other table set, you can invert the plates to reveal the food.

Dora's Talking Kitchen

There are two kitchen sets to choose from.This is the cheaper option at $7.99.What's nice about it is that it comes with a blender.Too bad it doesn't come with a small pie to put in the oven.

Fine furniture

This is very similar to the dining room set, I would only get one or the other and not both pieces. The pot barely fits in the stove and gets stuck in there which frustrates our 3 yr old daughter - she does enjoy playing with the set a lot though.

Intentional Shopper

I purchased the Dora the Explorer Talking House Christmas 2005. It was a big hit with my than 3 year old daughter. I 've since added the nursery extension to the house. When Dora's Kitchen Island set came along, I included it on the Christmas 2006 shopping list. My daughter really enjoys the set. I like the fact that the piece fits in with the overall decor of the kitchen. In other words, it does not look out of place. My only issue is that the kitchen floor space is limited and tends to get a little over crowded.

Finally Abuela can reach the cooking area!!!

One thing that has frusterated us with the Dollhouse has been the hight of the counters - they are too high for Abuela (the grandma) to reach in the slightest. This kitchen island is the perfect hight for Abuela, and the blender/cooking pot were a big hit too. I really like that the chairs can slid under the table area, so they can be "pushed in" after meals, and don't get in the way of other play. The oven is difficult to open, even for me ... I wish it was a little easier for my kids to play with - instead they have to come to me everytime they want the oven opened. The swivling plates are cute, and work well, easy to flip, but stay in place easily once flipped over. My kids have had no trouble getting any of the characters to sit in the chairs ... if they are bumped, they will fall off, but thats how most dollhouses are! Even Mami and Papi or Daisy have no problem sitting. Abuela is the only on who doesn't sit ... but she isn't made to really sit anywhere (poor Abuela must get tired of standing!)

Overall, we love this new accessory, and would definately reccomend it.

Dora Knows your Name is a great toy for the girls

I purchased this doll for my niece as a Christmas gift. Although she has lots of Dora dolls this one became her favorite. Is a really fun doll and I would recommend.

Pretty Cute

This turned out to be a wonderful gift for my 3 year old. She has a very uncommon name (from Bible) and Dora actually pronounces it correctly. My daughter really gets a kick out of hearing Dora say her name (I must admit that I am pretty tickled myself!). We also found a name very closely resembling her older cousin's. Of course, she just thinks it's creepy (teenagers?!? :-) One thing, I had a most awful time trying to get the speaker back in. I had to snip some of the stitching so it would fit. It still seems to kind of bust out the back. The velcro doesn't quite close all the way. I still totally recommend this toy! Especially at the awesome price it went for last Christmas!!!! Almost $10 cheaper than the other stores (even Wal-Mart) INCLUDING SHIPPING!!!

My 2 year old loves this doll

My daughter loves this toy. We purchased it for Christmas (2007). The first time Dora said her name she lit up. She loves that Dora knows her name, her friend's name, and likes all the things she likes. I love that I was able to program all of this into the toy. I really love that Dora tells her it is time to take a nap and go to bed at the times I designated. It is also educational (i did not expect that). My daugher can name almost all the spanish names for the animals she and Dora talk about. She also knows how to say..nap and good night.. in spanish thanks to this Doll. I got much more than I expected from this toy at an unbelievable price.

I bought both Dora knows your name and Elmo knows your name and my girls love them!!! The best part is the timer system, it allows you to yet certain times for them to say something, like goodnight, I'm hungey, etc... Great toy!!!

REALLY COOL

This doll is really cool! She says your name, your best friends name, wakes you up, tells you when to go to bed! She's too cute. My 3 year old daughter loves her and when she first heard her say her name, my daughter was so happy. This is a must buy for every Dora fan.

If I had to pick one thing that made the Dora the Explorer Sparkle and Twirl Mermaid doll special it would be that you receive two dolls in one. Dora is incredibly popular. I should know because I have two little girls, Madison and Emma. Both of them look forward to singing with Dora and solving her dilemmas each day. My girls loved brushing Dora’s long hair and putting her in story mode so they could hear her stories. The girls are almost three and five years old and they had no problem figuring everything out on their own. They tend to like to feel toys out without help from Jason (my husband) or myself rather than be told how to use them, but this was nothing more than common sense for them. Maddie set a great example for Emma (who is younger) and soon they were both able to make Dora change from her beach attire to her snazzy mermaid self. I’m lucky enough to have girls who love to play together, so this toy was perfect for some sisterly bonding time.

When I first saw the base and the setup for Dora the Explorer Sparkle and Twirl Mermaid I thought that there would be a lot more changing and playing with the seashell base then there actually was. The girls seemed to have their favorite mode and would only change her once in a while based on their mood or the game that they were playing with their new favorite toy. A change or two might be made in a day, but they seemed content having Dora as the mermaid or ready for the beach without having to change her appearance incessantly.

This was nice because if they wanted her to do something new they could fix it without having the sudden interest in a new doll. It also saved on the batteries in the seashell because they weren’t using them too often. In fact, I have yet to have to change the batteries and we have had the toy now for a few weeks.

Bottom LineDora the Explorer Sparkle and Twirl Mermaid is a toy that both of my children love. Fisher Price recommends this toy for ages 3-7 years old. One of my daughters is under three, but when she was learning to use it her older sister helped her out when she was confused by something. Even then, it was a rare occurrence and I have no doubt that she would have figured it out all on her own. Dora fans and little girls will love this great doll. The music and stories are entertaining and the doll is just adorable. It looks like Dora in every way and little girls that love her will adore this great doll. This one is a keeper and it will make a great Birthday gift

If you are familiar at all with Dora doll (toys). I'm sure you have found that many of the toys are intended of children three years and older. Even many of the Dora dolls have too small of accessories for the young toddler. I have found on Dora doll that it perfect for this child.

This doll features the bi-lingual Dora doll wearing her signature pink and orange, but this time in a long-sleeved hooded sweatshirt and nylon sweatpants. I love the cute sporty look this one. The head is made of a hard plastic but her body, arms and legs are of a soft fabric. When Dora's tummy is squeezed, you can hear three different phrases, "Hola. I'm dora" This doll also come with a purple backpack with one of three surprises for Dora. Also included in this set is a bracelet for your child that matched the one that Dora wears

This toys is intended for two year and up but I think 18 months and up would be appropriate. However, this is just my personal opinion, so do whatever you feel is safe for your child. The Dora Doll is about ten incheds tall so it is small enough for a very young child to carry around. We also enjoy this doll because the voice is much softer than most talking toys. This is quality Dora doll that won't drive you nuts with loud noise. We also like the realistic hair because my daughter likes to play with it. Some of our other Dora doll and figures have plastic head and hair.

The Fisher-Price Sparkle & Twirl Mermaid Doll doll is priced between $25 and $40 depending on the store. This is not worth the money. You press a button and Mermaid Dora doll is supposed to spin while her skirt rises to become Beach Dora. Although it does work sometimes, the spinning mechanism malfunctions and Dora just kind of rocks back and forth while the skirt does nothing. Press another button and it plays a song. This might be worth $10 but not the prices the stores are carrying it for.

Dora's Magical Castle is priced between, $50 and $60. The construction seems good but the castle does not fold up for easy storage. The castle is 6 rooms that are unfurnished. The furniture for the rooms is available at an additional $6 to $10 per room bringing the total for a fully functional castle up to $100 or better. This is not worth the money in my opinion.

The Dora the Explorer Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, and the ABC Game are priced a couple dollars more than their non-Dora counterparts did. They are worth the money and can often be found on sale at the same price as the non-Dora games. The addition of Dora and Boots to the games seems to hold a youngsters attention longer than the regular games.

Dora's Talking Kitchen costs between $70 and $80. It is surprisingly durable, seems to hold up well, and comes with some food, plates, and other normal play kitchen accessories. The kitchen set has kitchen related sounds and speaks to you in both Spanish and English. Additional interactive foods can be purchased separately to continue the ongoing fun. This product is worth the money in my opinion; the only downfall I see would be if your child would continue playing with it after they grow out of Dora the Explorer.
